Launch of ‘Empress Yard’ community space

Responding to local feedback, we are delighted to inform you that we are creating a simple new open air temporary space named ‘Empress Yard’ on the former Earls Court 2 site from early December 2021 until April 2022 (TBC) that will be available for local community event use (under permitted development rights, the space could be used for a variety of activities including markets, craft fairs, workshops for example). The 50m x 30m gravelled yard will be surrounded by fencing with festoon lighting. Entrance to the space will be via Empress Place. If you’re a local community group, or organisation who would like to use the space, then we’d love to hear from you. Use of the space will be free for local community groups and registered charities.

We are keen to hear what types of activity there is interest in, to help us best understand what will be of most use to the local community in the years ahead. We will not host events that might conflict with North End Road Market and our local traders and are looking for events that mainly run at weekends in the daytime or early evening, no late evening events will be considered out of respect for our neighbours.

Please bear in mind that we are not an events company and while we are very happy to support groups wishing to use the space, we cannot project management individual events. All ‘hires’ will be subject to health and safety assessments.

If you have an idea, please contact jade.barltrop@earlscourtdevco.com with an outline so we can discuss further.
