ECDC is bringing forward proposals for the redevelopment of 344-350 Old Brompton Road, which is not within the red-line development boundary of the wider Earls Court development site.

A separate planning application was submitted and approved earlier in the year by Kensington & Chelsea Council. The development comprises 51 new homes with 23 of those affordable and a new outdoor children’s place space.

We are currently in the process of appointing a contractor to carry out the main construction programme. The site is also being prepared for the commencement of enabling works, which are likely to begin in the near future.

These applications seek to extend the existing temporary use of the properties along Lillie Road (The Gallery, Pedal Back, Dads House, The Pop Up, The Hoarder and The Prince). Planning permission was originally granted in October 2017 and extended in 2020.

In view of the continued success of these uses we are seeking a further temporary period of 3 years, so that they can continue to contribute to the vibrancy of Lillie Road and to compliment the ongoing programme of meanwhile uses we host on site which include the BBC Earth Experience and Padel on EC2, Empress Studios, The Lost Estate etc.

An application was submitted in early October for a meanwhile use part of the EC2 site on Empress Space adjacent to the BBC Earth Experience for outdoor padel sports and leisure use, comprising 5 padel courts and associated floodlighting, portacabin units and signage.

A temporary use is sought for 2 years, up until December 2025. Padel Social Club are a UK Padel Operator focused on building Padel communities across different areas of London and the wider UK. Alongside Padel courts their clubs offer a place for users to socialise before and after their games by including a shop and food and beverage areas. Alongside the everyday operations of the club their focus is on running coaching programmes and events to help enhance the local community offering.
