The Earls Court Future Programme

The Earls Court Future programme has been developed to inspire and equip young people in the London Boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham with the key work-ready skills, knowledge and access to opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.

During the programme, the young people will take part in fun, engaging, activity based personal development and employability workshops to improve confidence, communication and skills. After the programme, they will continue to have access to work-based opportunities such as training, courses, jobs, apprenticeships etc. that will allow them to put this learning into practice.

Who is it for:

The programme is for people aged 14-21 who either live, work or study in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham or Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

This year we are excited to work on enhancing our offer to young people with employability support that focuses on working in-depth on a particular topic (e.g. Culture) that is not only important to the development of the site, but to communities in both local boroughs.

The young people will work in teams on this topic and present their ideas to a panel of judges from ECDC and local employers, with prizes presented at a subsequent awards ceremony at the site.

Young people will have the opportunity to:

  • Network with employers from different industries
  • Develop key work-ready skills to boost their CVs
  • Go on site tours to see the developments directly
  • Meet like minded peers who want to enhance their personal development
  • Access employment and training opportunities are available to them in their local areas

Delivery to date

Since the launch in July 2022, 70 local young people across two cohorts have graduated from the Earls Court Future Programme. The young people who took part have grown in confidence, increased their employability skills and collaborated with ECDC staff about the future of their local area, as well as meeting representatives from TfL and the Earls Court Internationa Film Festival. The programme is delivered for EDCD by youth engagement specialists 2-3 Degrees.
